HYB - Hybrid Code

An open source C++ numerical model platform for global hybrid simulations of planetary plasma interactions.

HYB is a hybrid simulation platform for plasma interactions of planets, moons, comets and other celestial bodies developed at the Finnish Meteorological Institute. Notably, HYB has been applied to the solar wind interactions of Mars, Venus, Moon and comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko and Titan's interaction with the magnetosphere of Saturn. HYB has been used to study in situ particle and magnetic field observations, for example, on Mars Express, Venus Express, Cassini-Huygens and Rosetta missions.

The HYB platform including the simulation code and the analysis tools are distributed under the GPL v3 open source license. See our GitHub repository:
